? Historical Note:
The tiny princely state of Sailana, located in present-day Madhya Pradesh, issued coinage in its own name during the reign of Raja Jaswant Singh (1895–1913). These coins were struck acknowledging British paramountcy, hence carrying the portrait of King George V.
Fractional copper issues like the 1912 Quarter Anna are considered extremely rare, as the mintages were very limited and circulation was confined to a small territory. Most examples seen today are heavily worn, making collectible-grade pieces highly desirable.
