The Kaliyan Fanam (short for Kaliyugaraman Panam) was one of the smallest yet most iconic gold denominations of the princely state of Travancore. Bearing sacred symbols, it highlights the kingdom’s devotion to Vishnu and strong Hindu heritage. These fanams played a vital role in South Indian temple offerings, trade, and rituals, making them spiritually as well as economically significant.
