History:
This remarkable copper coin offers a glimpse into the rich history and cultural heritage of the Yaudheya tribe, prominent in ancient north India during the 3rd to 4th centuries AD. The Yaudheyas were renowned for their martial prowess, and their coinage reflects their valor and religious beliefs.

The obverse of the coin features a striking depiction of Karttikeya, the Hindu god of war and son of Lord Shiva, standing facing with a spear in his right hand. A rooster, symbolizing courage and vigilance, accompanies him to the right. Surrounding Karttikeya is the Brahmi legend "Yaudheya-ganasya jaya," celebrating the victory and strength of the Yaudheya tribe. At the top left, the Brahmi letter "Tri" further adds to the coin's inscription.

On the reverse side, Goddess Devasena, the consort of Karttikeya, is portrayed standing slightly turned to her left with her right hand extended. Her presence symbolizes strength, unity, and divine protection, embodying the values cherished by the Yaudheyas.

This coin, with a diameter of 25 mm and weighing 11.28 grams, serves not only as a numismatic artifact but also as a testament to the religious and cultural practices of the Yaudheya tribe. Its superb quality, evident in its superb lustre and gem-like appearance, adds to its rarity and collectibility.
